Attorneys working with ClassAction.org want to hear from anyone in California, New York or Illinois who experienced a loss of braking power when their NIU Technologies KQi2 Pro electric scooter was fully charged.

Some KQi2 Pro users have reported that the kick scooter’s braking power was diminished or reduced during the first ride after a charge, and the attorneys are investigating whether a defect in the regenerative braking system is to blame. If so, it’s possible that a class action lawsuit could be filed to help customers get back some of the money they spent on the KQi2 Pro.

If you live in California, New York or Illinois and experienced braking problems when your KQi2 Pro was fully charged, fill out the form on this page to share your story. You may be able to help get a class action lawsuit started.

NIU Technologies explains that its KQi2 Pro electric scooter has both mechanical and electronic brakes and uses a regenerative braking system to help recharge the battery using the energy produced while braking.

It’s believed that the part of the brakes that provides most of the electric scooter’s braking power may be connected to the regenerative braking system in such a way that prevents it from operating when the battery is fully charged.

In fact, some KQi2 Pro users have speculated that when the electric scooter is fully charged, the regenerative braking system will not work until the battery is depleted a certain amount.

KQi2 Pro users have complained in reviews and online forums about having difficulty braking after charging their electric scooter.

Some consumers have raised safety concerns, stating that they were unable to fully stop when riding down a hill or incline.

Below is a sample of online complaints describing users’ braking problems [sic throughout]:

A class action lawsuit, if filed and successful, could help people get back some of the money they spent on the KQi2 Pro or any repairs they made. It could also potentially force NIU Technologies to recall the electric scooters and offer a free fix.

If you’ve experienced braking problems with your KQi2 Pro electric scooter while it was fully charged and you live in California, New York or Illinois, fill out the form on this page to help the investigation. You may be able to help get a class action lawsuit started.
